Alliance Française Accra will host the National Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 14th January, 2017 at the Amphitheatre. A resident group of the National Theatre and constitutes one of the only classic symphony orchestras in Contemporary West Africa established by Ghana’s First President; Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1959.
The concert focuses on the strengthening of ties between the two cultural institutions and also the making performances of the group accessible to the general public in order to change the perception that orchestra music is for the elite.
This concert is the first of four in the year and the organisers look forward to have all music-loving people to be part as they will be treated to music at its best by talented instrumentalists and musicians.
In order to make this concert interesting and involving, it’s been segmented into three categories.
Western and Ghanaian classics, Traditional Ghanaian tunes and Ghanian popular evergreen tunes.
Alliance Francaise Accra is a place to be on Saturday, 14th January 2017 as performance begins at 8:00pm.
