CHANNEL O TO HOST JOY FM LISTENERS AT CHANNEL O MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

dh blackThe annual Channel O Music Video is here again! This year, the award is scheduled to take place on 17 November 2012 at the Sisulu Square in Kliptown, bringing the awards to Soweto for the first time. In its ninth year, the Channel O Music Video Awards is one of Africa’s most prestigious awards which has always lived to its billing. This year promises to another thrilling experience with a stunning line-up of African artists poised to turn the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards into the biggest celebration of African music talent this year!   ChO is rewarding JoyFM listener, Erica Nortey, a student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana who emerged winner of DStv’s Channel O Music Video Awards and her best friend Theodora Ashare with a trip to South Africa to attend the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards scheduled for, Soweto.   During their six day trip, they will visit several of Cape Town’s tourist attractions such as Cape Point, Robben Island and also experience the Peninsula Tour and Table Mountain Cable Car Tour. The Channel O Music Video Competition was organized in partnership with Joy FM on the Open House Party and the four week competition saw listeners call into the show to answer questions on the awards and the channel.   Three winners qualified for the finals and Erica emerged winner at the hotly contested finale after answering all seven questions correctly.

Ghanaian musicians nominated for the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards are Sarkodie, D-Black, E.L and Manifest for Most Gifted Newcomer, Most Gifted Hip Hop, Most Gifted West and Most Gifted Video of the Year categories whilst Manifest is billed to perform at the event, representing Ghana.
