Eugene Ankomah Press Photo 2British/Ghanaian celebrity Visual Artist Eugene Ankomah will be auctioning a small selection of his works at one of UK’s largest Banks. The Standard Chartered Bank’s European headquarters in East London had previously had its Client Meeting Suite re-designed in order to reflect its mostly Asia-Pacific and African operations, as well as to also put emphasis on its historic roots.

The re-designing project led by Pringle Brandon Architects, involved discussions with an Asia Feng Shui Specialist, where great efforts were also made to research and purchase additional antique artwork, sculpture, furniture and artifacts sourced from around the world. The result is a less corporate approach with the new meeting suite incorporating the bank’s collection of art and historic artifacts.

The private Auction will be held in-order to help raise funds for the Salmon Youth Centre charity in Bermondsey, South London (which is one of the largest Youth Centre establishments in Europe) and where Eugene Ankomah is currently taking up his Artist Residency. Ankomah will be auctioning a small selection of his artworks from his private collection along with some pieces he has produced specifically with the young people from Salmon Youth Centre.

The event will be taking place at the Standard Chartered Bank on Thursday 9th September from 6pm-9pm. Which is anticipating an attendance by some very distinguished guests, VIPs and Executives from the Banking world as well as Directors and Youth Co-coordinators from Salmon Youth Centre.
