Juliet Ibrahim and Confidence Haugen donate to Kidney patients

Published

P1000824Actress Juliet Ibrahim and Ghanaian socialite and entrepreneur, Confidence Haugen have made a donation to two kidney failure patients in Accra.  The donation was made from proceeds  raised from a Halloween Costume Party held earlier in November. Juliet and Confidence through their respective charities, Juliet Ibrahim Foundation and  Project Smiles, donated the undisclosed amount of cash to the Teshie Family Hospital to enable Madam Cynthia Manu and Richard Kusi Yeboah to have an advance series of treatments.   Cynthia Manu Greaves had to sell most of her assets in order to fund her treatment and has been on dialysis since 2007. The 54-year old mother of two said she was very grateful to God for the lovely support from friends, families, the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation and Project Smiles. “I do little work here and there but I have good friends and relatives who give me money to help pay for my treatment. At times when the day comes and I have no money, I knock door to door, tell them my problem and beg them for money. I know it’s strange but I have to because I need to survive,”  she revealed.   Janet Donkor, a single parent on the other hand sold out her mini super market when the doctors declared her 15 year old son, Richard Kusi Yeboah as a kidney failure patient. Having been tested, she is willing to offer one of her kidney to her son but lost hope when all the means to raised GH¢ 60,000 failed.   The doctors for the transplant are due to be in Ghana in February 2013 hence  the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation and Project Smiles will be putting together another event to raise over GH¢ 120,000 before February.  ]]>
