Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim and others flirt with President Mahama, what good will come out of it?

Published

President Dramani Mahama seems to inspire a lot of hope for many stakeholders within the creative industry, resulting in several groups paying courtesy calls on him.  He has given the assurance that government would make a substantial budgetary allocation towards the creative Arts in order to create more jobs and make the country more attractive to visitors. He said under the re-aligning of departments and ministries, the creative arts that was under the Ministry of Culture and Chieftaincy Affairs would now be moved to another Ministry to make it more vibrant and dynamic. President Mahama gave this assurance when members of the industry called on him on Wednesday at the Castle, Osu. The delegation was at the Castle to congratulate him for winning the 2012 general election and his subsequent investiture as President of the Republic and to also thank him for the budgetary allocation made for their industry last year. President Mahama advised various groups in the industry to collaborate effectively to attract from government and corporate entities in the country and beyond. He said: “It is only when you have a common voice that government and other corporate bodies will able to adequately support you to achieve your goals.” Mrs Selassie Ibrahim, a member of the group on behalf of the delegation commended President Mahama and the entire government for the support they had given over the years and appealed for more governmental intervention in ensuing years. The big question is, what will come out of all these assurances?]]>
