Alliance Francaise Accra & Akwaaba Music present “Power Play” a seminar to empower artists and music entrepreneurs, provide space for personal growth and networking, and exchange ideas and skills. Ghana’s music scene is vibrant: popular hit makers such as Sarkodie or Bisa Kdei gather large crowds in and out of the country, while others such as Pat Thomas or King Ayisoba collect rave reviews and awards across continents. Yet the local music industry still suffers from bottlenecks, and information about business practices doesn’t always circulate. Power Play aims to fill these gaps by empowering artists and music entrepreneurs: the themes presented during this 2 day event will encompass all main sectors of the music business, and also provide ample space for personal growth, networking and exchange of ideas and skills. The discussion panels at Power Play are set to advise up and coming artists on building a foundation from their first fans, developing a sound and expanding production techniques. It also advises them on the business side, for instance about how to present themselves, how to interact with potential partners and many more aspects. The conversations are set to be very educative and entertaining as we have amazing participants such as Ms Naa (General Manager, Y FM), Antoine Mensah (program director, Live FM), Panji Anoff (director, Pidgin Music), Omonblanks (creative director, Blank Creation Ent), Samori Gambrah (marketing director, Accra Breweries), Mark Tekpah (director, Tigo Music), Phil Assah (marketing, Coca-Cola), Gafacci (producer), Kuvie (producer), Evans Offori (director, VI Music), Boris Paillard (booking agent, FR), Mina (recording artist, UK), Benjamin Lebrave (CEO, Akwaaba Music), Ato Ulzen-appiah (entrepreneur), DJ Pizaro, DJ Steloo, DJ Black, Masta Jay and many more.
