#FreeAkuapemPoloo: Celebrities rally behind Akuapem Poloo following her conviction
On April 14, 2021, there were reports that Ghanaian Actress Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo had been convicted by the Accra Circuit Court over naked pictures with her son.
The conviction comes after she posted a naked picture with her son on Instagram celebrating his seventh birthday in 2020.
Akuapem Poloo plead guilty to all three charges and has since been remanded into police custody to appear in court on Friday (April 16, 2021) with the results of the pregnancy for sentencing.
Reacting to the news of her conviction on Twitter, several celebrities have opined that Akuapem Poloo’s conviction is a little to harsh. They have since started a #FreeAkuapemPoloo hashtag on Twitter to plead for mercy on her behalf.
“I think it’s a little harsh to separate a child from the mum just because of pictures taken … would want to plead with the law to pardon our sister #FreeAkuapemPoloo,” Sarkodie tweeted.
