2021 In Review: The painful celebrity deaths that left citizens sad

It’s never easy to say goodbye to your favorite musician or actor. Kohwe, Nana Ampadu, and DJ Advisor are among the celebrities who died in 2021, leaving those in their wake heartbroken.

1. Nana Ampadu

The news about the death of veteran Highlife Musician, Nana Ampadu came in the early hours of Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

The “Obra” hitmaker was reported to have died at the Legon Hospital in Accra where he was receiving treatment for an illness. He was 76.

2. Agya Brenya

Veteran Ghanaian Kumawood actor Agya Brenya passed away on 30th September 2021.
The news of his death was announced by a family member on social media, specifically Facebook, and was later confirmed by actor Lil Win on Instagram.

3. DJ Adviser

The sad news about the passing away of Happy FM’s presenter DJ Adviser on March 4th 2021 had social media is buzzing.

DJ Adviser, who was known in real life as Isaac De-Graft Danquah, was the host of Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo’ Drive

4. Bob Pixel

When popular photographer, Emmanuel Bobbie well known as Bob Pixel was reported dead on February 25th, 2021, the whole creative industry was left in shock.

Prior to his death, he had made a post on social media suggesting that he had caught the deadly coronavirus.

5. Kohwe

Legendary Ghanaian actor, Kofi Laing, popularly known as Kohwe died after many years of ill health.

His daughter, Comfort Laing, who confirmed the news to ghanaweekend.com, said her father passed away at his residence in Accra on the evening of Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Kohwe was believed to be around age 75 at the time of his passing.

6. Agya Manu

Known privately as Samuel Manu, actor Agya Manu passed on on June 15 after battling an undisclosed illness.
His one-week observation was held on Friday, June 26 at the Accra Arts Centre.

7. Virgil Abloh

On November 28th, 2021 the world was shocked with news of the passing of renowned designer Virgil Abloh.
