Euro Decor Ghana, a furniture company in Accra, has suspended their ambassadorial deal with actress Efia Odo following her decision to take a break from social media.

In February, 2021, Efia Odo signed a 3 year contract with the company as brand ambassador. Her roles included social media presence to promote and market the brand.

However, after weeks of battling it out on the #FixTheCountry movement on social media and in court, the actress, who is one of the leaders of the movement, announced that she was taking a break from social media to focus on her mental health.

“I will like to take this time to let you all know that I’m going on a hiatus. My mental health is at stake at the moment. My love for this country and humanity has tuned into something I am not, political. I am of peace and equality. My heart and intentions are as pure as gold. The things are too heavy for me right now. Take care,” she wrote.

Her decision to stay away from social media has however, resulted in the company’s decision to suspend her contract.

“In reference to the announcement on social media to take a break to undergo self-refurbishment, Euro Decor and its management will like to wish you a speedy recovery. But considering the current situation and fulfillment of obligations requires of her as stipulated in their contract, and agreed by both parties, we have decided to suspend the contract pending future review.”
