2face, Uti Nwachuku, Banky W, Monalisa Chinda and others nominated for Nigeria Model Achievers’ Awards

The nominations for the 2011 Nigeria Model Achievers’ Awards (NMAA) were recently unveiled during an elaborate ‘Green-White-Green’ Nominees Party at Ember Creek, in Ikoyi,Lagos; and there were some surprise nominations for some actors and singers who wouldn’t typically be referred to as models. They include Nollywood’s Richard Mofe Damijo, Monalisa Chinda, and singers 2face Idibia, Banky W amongst others.

The 2011 NMAA main ceremony, under the theme ‘Dream Nigeria’, is billed to hold at the Scintilla Event Centre in Lagos, off the Lekki Expressway on November 27. The awards scheme was launched in 2009 and its network includes models and organizations from various categories, who have been dedicated to the realization of industrial reforms and change. It is an event organized annually to celebrate and honor deserving models, brands and unusual creativity in multimedia advertising. It covers areas of conceptualization, photography, makeup, branding, directing and all behind-the-scene forces that contribute to the growth of the modeling and advertising industry in Nigeria. By this definition, the nominated singers and actors fall into the scheme since they are also used to advertise several brands.

The main awards ceremony will be preceded with Industry Night event on October 26 and a club tour at Club 38 on November 3. Below is a full list of nominations:
