The 9th episode of the Adventurers in the Diaspora Series, a discussion forum dedicated to highlighting the role creativity must play in Ghana’s cultural and economic growth will be focusing on the theme, ‘Revitalization of the National Museum of Ghana and its role in Ghana’s Development Agenda’

As in most parts of the world, our ‘temples of culture’ are under siege due to the lack of proper support on all levels. It is critical to create and sustain an environment for individuals and institutions who view supporting the Arts as part of their civic and cultural responsibility.

The discussion will begin with the aim of understanding its rich history and the role it has played in shaping the vision of post colonial Ghana, and indeed Africa .The evening will focus on sharing narratives and crafting a way forward with our esteemed and knowledgeable panelists, guests and audience.

The discussion will be moderated by Mr. Nat Amartefio, former mayor of Accra, whose work as an architect and patron of the arts brings important insight to this initiative.

“It is our firm belief that in supporting this most important symbol of our culture and history, there will be a renewed focus on the need for creativity, and appreciation of tradition, in our national dialogue. We will launch the FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM, which will work together and support our hard working public servants to transform this heirloom into an inspired space and collective repository,”comment the organizers.
