Each year on 25 May Africans around the globe celebrate Africa Day. The day commemorates the founding of the first union of African countries in 1963.

As we commemorate this momentous day in African history, some of Triple Double Media clients from across Africa share their messages of hope for the citizens of the continent.

Africa Day to me is so special because it’s the one day when the world celebrates us and sees us. As Africans most times, we fight to be seen and treated as equals in many aspects of our lives and careers.

Africa day to me is the day we get to be seen and we celebrate ourselves in our differences and what stand outs about us that allows for us to all be the same in the end. It makes us one, the music, the culture, the art, the food, the tradition.

I come from Zambia, a country in the southern Region of the continent. I am a singer/songwriter, rapper and producer. The Zambian music industry isn’t quite popular on the global market. We have so much talent and potential and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to see us!

Zuliyano Boys

There has never been a better time for us as Africans to celebrate our culture with the rest of the world. In this day and age, new forms of media have allowed us to share information in the fastest and broadest way possible.

It is crucial for us as Africans to use that privilege to our advantage. Africans must learn and engage more about where we come from.

Seeing other Africans commemorate their culture every day is exciting to see. We are also very excited to share our musical EP called Zuliyano, which will be released on the 10th of June. This project consists of the new African sound called Amapiano.

Africa day for me is a special day that reminds me who i am and let me celebrate my culture and identity although this should be celebrated every day for Africans. We are beautiful in our million traditions and we should be proud of who we are and support each other.

When we celebrate African Day we celebrate our native background as Africans this day is dedicated to African heritage our different cultures. Africa hasn’t always been celebrated that is why we take this day off to remember how far we have come as a continent.

As an artist I feel every proud to have come from such a rooted continent music started in Africa that is why you see most of the African artist being more celebrated on most streaming platforms such as iTunes, and Amazon.

I would like to wish every African a happy African Day let’s stay rooted and let’s continue working together in making African great again.
