Ghanaian actor, Clement Bonney popularly known as Mr. Beautiful has stated that all celebrities who supported and campaigned for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win power should bow their heads in shame.

According to him, the current state of the country proves that the government has failed woefully in their promise to better the country.

Mr Beautiful states that unlike his support for former President John Mahama in 2012, which yielded great results for the country, this government has not been able to do same.

In an interview with Metro TV, he stated;

“When I openly supported John Dramani Mahama in 2012, Agya Koo and Matilda Asare and others were able to show their faces and openly  support the incumbent government in 2016. But as I am talking to you, if I were Agya Koo or Kalybos or any other person who supported the NPP, I’ll bow my head in shame. Because when I supported former President Mahama, look at what he was able to achieve. What they supported, let me end it here.”

Mr Beautiful, who has openly campaigned for and defended the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) added that he will continue to involve himself in politics because it is in his everyday life.

“Forever and ever, I will involve myself in politics because everywhere we are,  there’s politics. I buy fuel, I pay school fees, my wife goes to the market, so if things are not going well and I believe this person can help solve the problem, why won’t I give them my support? I If because I support a different party and you think I’m your enemy, then you are not matured. So nothing can stop me,” he added.
