Award-winning Ghanaian actress Ama K Abebrese has bemoaned the fact that talented songwriter and highlife artiste Akwaboah has been greatly undervalued in Ghanaian music industry.
The dexterity with which Ghanaian highlife musician, Akwaboah Junior performs music may have been lost on Ghanaians or the public has simply not given him his due, television presenter and producer, Ama K Abebrese has noted.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Ama Abebrese described Akwaboah as a “legend in the making” when it comes to the highlife genre.
“I feel like people don’t give Akwaboah enough credit. He is a great musician and for him to write songs for DSP Kofi Sarpong and Becca well as other artists [tells it all],” she said.
Akwaboah has been nominated in the ALBUM OF THE YEAR, SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR, RECORD OF THE YEAR, HIGHLIFE ARTISTE AND MALE VOCALIST categories for the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
