Akwaboah pays glowing tribute to the late Christian Atsu in new song “Ride On”

Ghanaian Highlife singer, Akwaboah has released a national tribute song to the late Christian Atsu.

The song, titled “Ride On” now out on all streaming platforms, pays a glowing tribute to the late Black Stars player.

“Carry you with us until we meet again. We will hold you in our hearts until we meet in heaven. We wish we won’t cry thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say but our eyes are filled with tears,” the lyrics read.

In the beautiful chorus, Akwaboah promises Atsu that he’s forever in the hearts of Ghanaians, as he journeys into heaven.

“Ride on, Ride on, brother to heaven where you belong. Ride on, ride on, brother you’re forever in our hearts,” Akwaboah sings.

Atsu, 31-years-old, was found dead following the devastating earthquake in Turkey, his agent confirmed, Saturday, February 18.

The sad news follows a 12-day search amid the rubble of the earthquake that has devastated Turkey and Syria.

The news of his death has hit Ghanaians hard, as he was a gallant gentleman, who provided for many in and out of the country.

Atsu is survived by his wife Marie-Claire Rupio and three kids.
