Alfred Hitchcock Saturday on TCM this weekend on Dstv

DStv viewers can tune in to back-to-back thrillers directed by Alfred Hitchcock on Saturday, November 26. Often regarded as the greatest British filmmaker, Alfred Hitchcock became the master of ‘suspense’ cinema. His pioneering methods have been replicated by many over the years, but no-one can match the brilliance of Hitchcock at his best. DStv audiences will be  kept on the edge of their seats with the following line-up:

Viewers can tune in starting 18:45 CAT to watch North by Northwest (1949), where a hapless New York advertising executive is mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies. He is pursued across the country while he looks for a way to survive. Stars: Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason.

At 21:00, don’t miss The Birds (1963): A wealthy San Francisco socialite pursues a potential boyfriend to a small Northern California town that slowly takes a turn for the bizarre when birds of all kinds suddenly begin to attack people there in increasing numbers and with increasing viciousness. Stars: Rod Taylor, Tippi Hedren and Suzanne Pleshette.

And at 22:55 Marnie (1964): Mark marries Marnie although she is a habitual thief and has serious psychological problems, and tries to help her confront and resolve them. Stars: Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery.
