Ghanaian actress, Beverly Afaglo has requested for an amendment in the laws of Ghana that requires a private individual to seek a permit before they can repair deplorable roads.

According to her, requiring private citizens to pay for a permit in order to be able to repair damaged roads in their neighborhoods is not reasonable.

Ms. Afaglo, in a long Instagram post this morning, bemoaned the state of Ghanaian roads and government’s refusal to make it easier for private citizens to help repair the damaged roads.

“There’s this issue bothering me for sometime now. I’m told you need a permit to fix bad roads anywhere in Ghana and you have to pay for the permit. My own money to fix the road to make movement easier and save all of us from visiting mechanics everyday, I have to pay for a permit before I can fix our deplorable roads?” she queried.

The mother and wife of Choirmaster of Praye fame expressed how backwards the law was and asked for it to be amended immediately.

“Come on Ghana, we need to wise up. If we say we are moving to “E” everything, we much look at our basic amenities too. Who even made that law? Government isn’t fixing the roads with our taxes, we are not complaining, allow good citizens to help make our lives easier too, you say no. This is evil. It’s a shame. That law must be amended or cancelled completely.”
