Only a few weeks after Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince lost his mother, another young and talented Nigerian singer/songwriter/rapper/producer, Lineo lost his mum on May 20 when she died in her sleep at age 61 in IjebuOode ,  lineo 2Ogun State.  The artist had traveled to see his mother the previous Monday and left on following Tuesday.  According to Lineo, his mother was well when he left, “We talked, laughed and prayed before bidding each other farewell.  She died on Friday, so sad. She was mother of all and especially to my friend that lost his mum. She’s loved by everyone. She was in full support of my music career when she saw that I have invested my soul into it I will surely miss her forever.”

Adekoya Adegboyega Yusuf alias Lineo (Legend Indeed Now Extra Ordinary) was born in Lagos into a big royal family that originated from Ogun state. His father has 12 wives, making him one of his father’s 40 children. Lineo would pass for a rebellious prince who decided to pursue a career in music against their traditional belief, which does not permit a prince to sing or dance for people. But music for Lineo, was more of a calling than a pursuit. He is big fan of Michael Jackson as a musician and entertainer.

Lineo’s journey into showbiz however started with modeling, doing some few popular commercials in Nigeria.  Before this, he was his principal’s favourite entertainer during social events while at Mayflower Secondary School, Ogun State. Today, he is one of the songwriters, singers, rappers and producers who have enjoyed a fair share of attention in Nigeria’s music industry. One of his first singles “I Dey Ring”, released in 2004, became a popular ringtone for many. “Let’s Get It Started” (2007) followed with a video that enjoyed wide rotation.
