Although her academic obligations may have slowed her down, Asi revealed that her motivation for doing music is manifesting her goals and finding favor in everything she does.

“I’ll write things down, I’m like this is what I want. Regardless. Just hope and pray. It’s going to come through and it comes through,” she said.

When asked about the difficulties women face when attempting to break into the Ghanaian entertainment industry, she stated:

“I’m not oblivious to the fact that there are like hurdles that women face just generally patriarchy exists, but I think one thing that has helped me is I’m not going to make that an excuse for me not to succeed so it’s like I’m just pushing”.

Even with opportunities such as the chance to perform on a large stage such as Afrochella, Asi stated that she cannot ignore the patriarchal system in the industry and the obstacles it creates for women, but she refuses to use this as an excuse and is pushing to succeed despite the obstacles she faces as a new artist in the industry.

The Best Female Vocalist nominee for the 2022 3Music Awards is confident in her ability to advance her career and make music for the ensuing 10–20 years.
