This week on Studio 53 Extra features the launch of Ghanaian designer Brigitte Merki-Ibrahim’s new clothing collection, the MTV Africa Music Awards in Nigeria, the Skyy Vodka Pool Party 2010 in Nigeria and more.

Also on the show is the annual appointment of global filmmakers on African soil at Africa International Film festival, a five day event which debuted in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.   There is also the finale of Naija sings, Nigeria’s top singing TV competition which saw 27-year old Lagos resident Casey announced as the second Glo Naija Sings winner recently. At the end of a spectacular grand finale in which he performed alongside resident judge Tosin Martins and soul-folk singer Bez, Casey beat out Da Brodas and Rasine to take the $100, 000 cash prize, a Toyota Rav 4 and a Glo Ambassadorship.

Kennis Music latest signee, Goldie Harvey will air her brand new music video ‘Jawo’ . Goldie Harvey, a British-Nigerian pop artiste was born in Nigeria and had her early education in Lagos, first Green Springs Montessori Primary School and and then St. John’s College, Palm Grove, Lagos before studying Business Management (B.Arts) at the University of Sunderland. Goldie began her career in 2006 releasing her debut album “Spin Me” with four tracks which include ‘Komole’, ‘Nothing Has Changed’, ‘Shift’ and ‘Spin Me’. Goldie now has two singles ‘You Know It’ which is on Nigerian top charts and ‘DJ Play On’.
