“Bury your pride and reunite”- Praye urges defunct groups

Reunited Hiplife group, Praye are appealing to defunct musical groups in Ghana, to settle their differences and come back together.
Praye, reunited this year at the Vodafone Ghana music Awards (VGMA) after they broke up seven years ago.

On Friday, October 12, they officially launched three songs, ‘Disco Light’, ‘Adesua’ and ‘Gban Gbai’ on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show.

According to one member of the group (praye Tietia), they are overwhelmed with the positive reviews they are receiving for their newly released songs.

Speaking to showbiz in an interview, Praye Tietia stated that other musical groups should unite as one, because there is strength in unity.

“I want to use this occasion to tell other groups which have gone solo to bury their pride and settle their differences. I’m making the call to the likes of Dobble and 4X4 to come together. I know that 4X4 hasn’t officially announced that they have gone their separate ways but in reality, they are not together as a group.

“That trick of we are pursuing solo projects has always been the best to use when a group breaks up and I know for sure that 4X4 isn’t a group anymore. Our reunion should send a message of unity to them that there is strength in togetherness than individual interests,” he said.

Praye further revealed that their latest songs are great tunes to celebrate this year’s Christmas festivities.

“Christmas is coming so we need something to get the people on their dancing feet. We are coming with the songs. We call it the Christmas package,” Choirmaster said.

We are no match to Naija musically – Kin Frenzee

Published

on

GHANAIAN Afrobeats artiste Kin Frenzee is choosing Nigeria over Ghana when it comes to good music production.

For Kin Frenzee who wouldn’t mince words, Nigerians are way ahead of their Ghanaian colleagues when it comes to making good music.

“Truth be told, Nigerians do better music than us. They put a lot in their music. Their lyrics, beat and the entire production of their songs are top notch. Most of the time it is our DJs who download songs from Nigeria and play them because they sound good to the ear and you would love to listen them” he told Graphic Showbiz.

Kin Frenzee born Francis Kingsley Prah went on to say the Nigerian artistes support each other, do a lot of international collaborations and have reps in different countries pushing their music.
“In addition to doing good music, Nigerian musicians have reps in different countries pushing their songs. The likes of Patoranking, Burna Boy have their men out there doing working for them. All these put them ahead of us” he stated.

Still singing their praises, Kin Frenzee said Nigerian musicians are very daring and have been able to penetrate the international market with Afrobeats.

“Trust me, I party a lot when I travel and I can say that you hardly hear songs from Ghanaian artistes out there whie that of Nigerians are all over. They have been able to penetrate the international market with Afrobeats and they are not joking”, he added.

Giving his thought on how our musicians can make inroads too, Kin Frenzee said it is about time we write better lyrics, do more international collaborations and get reps to promote our music beyond the shores of Ghana.

Away from all that, Kin Frenzee who has worked with musicians like Nero X, Nana Quame and Skrewface is out with a new song Odopa recorded by Willis Beats.

The love song which was released two weeks ago talks about faithfulness and the fact that partners should solve their problems without involving a third party.

On whether music pays in Ghana, Kin Frenzee said it is just a handful of musicians who are enjoying while the rest just get by.

“ In Ghana right now, only big names such as Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, KiDi and a few others who are enjoying from music. The rest are suffering and it is no joke”, he revealed.

Milovan Rajevac sacked after Ghana’s early exit from AFCON 2021

Published

on

According to breaking news on Myjoyonline, the Ghana Football Association(GFA) has sacked Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac.

The Serbian has been relieved of his duties after supervising Ghana’s woeful performance in the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon.

Following the abysmal performance of the senior national team Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has ordered the Ghana Football Association to review the work and capacity of Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac.

A statement signed by the Minister for Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif ordered the FA to reconstitute the Black Stars Management Committee. The Black Stars were eliminated in the group stage after Milovan Rajevac’s side suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Comoros on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

The defeat condemned the Black Stars to an exit in the group stages of the AFCON for the first time since 2006. Mustapha Ussif said the country has lost confidence in the team and questioned the capacity of the coach.

“The Ministry made it clear to the GFA that the people of Ghana have lost confidence in the capacity of the current technical team of the Black Stars to deliver success. The Ministry, therefore, asked the GFA to review the work and capacity of the Black Stars technical team led by the head coach Milovan Rajevac,” the statement said.

“Following the emergency meeting, the Ministry, in accordance with his mandate asked the Ghana Football Association to reconstitute the Black Stars Management Committee,” the statement added.

Earlier, President of the GFA, Kurt Okraku, said Ghanaians calling for the head or the dismissal of coach Milovan Rajevac is premature.

In an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM, he said the FA will take the right decision for Ghana.

“It is important we have cool heads, engage and take the right decisions for Ghana,” he said.

Kurt Okraku also reiterated that the coach was the one who selected the players for the tournament.

“Milovan is the ultimate selector of players for the national team. When he names his squad, he sends it to a committee and justifies his call-ups to them. Nobody selects players for the coach,” he stated.

GMG Disappointed with Joey B’s Lack of Professionalism

Published

on

We have always been passionate about propelling our music industry into a larger space where the Ghanaian sound and the artist alike get to be seen in the larger picture.

However, a statement from Gbevu Music Group(GMG), indicates how Joey B has after so many attempts refused sharing “Come Over” a single by UK based Afrobeats crooner Loofy on his Social media platforms as stated in their collaboration deal.

This lack of respect from Joey B’s camp was confirmed by Gbevu Music Group (GMG), the management label that helped secure the collaboration for Loofy.

We can all agree professionalism is indeed a working relationship and the absence of it, has over the years seen the industry lose its credibility.

If an artiste goes to the length of appreciating another talents value and duly pays for his services then there is no reason whatsoever not to honor such a showmanship.

I mean, what’s the sweat in sharing a couple of posts for a work you’ve been fully paid for? It’s ironic this same artiste will willingly share irrelevant posts when what he was paid for is blatantly ignored.

Joey B is no novice to the music game and should know better because every little effort goes a long way in cementing a brand.

The song “Come Over” with video shot by Yaw SkyFace is a visual beauty and the groovy tune has received massive positive reviews since its release.
