trigmaticCharter House, organizers of the annual Ghana Music Awards has unveiled the much-awaited list of nominees for the 2011 Ghana Music Awards at a well attended ceremony at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Singer Kwabena Kwabena had 9 mentions in total with 3 being as a result of collaborations on the songs of other artists, while gospel songstress Cecelia Marfo pulled in 7 nominations. Rapper, Trigmatic lead the hiphop/hiplife force with a total of 7 nominations.

Other multiple nominees include: Castro (5), VIP (5),Eazzy (5), D-Black (5) and No Tribe (5).  The launch ceremony was marked with several delightful performances from the likes of Bless, Efya, Herty Borngreat but the highlight of the night certainly came from gospel group, No Tribe who performed on stage in spite of an unexpected downpour.

The 2011 Ghana Music Awards ceremony is scheduled for the Accra International Conference Centre (Dome) on April 9. It will be preceded by the GMA dialogue/workshop, the GMA Nominees Party.  The public can vote for their favourite artists by texting the category name from A-I and the name of the artist of choice to MTN short code 1767.
