With school holidays in full swing and no definite end in sight, there’s a little change in the routine in many homes right now, as we choose to do the right thing by staying indoors.

The littlies are possibly climbing the walls at this point of their ‘social distancing’ experience, and the tweens will be ‘so over’ the novelty of having their parents working from home that you will all in need an epic watch-list to keep your tweens (and yourself) busy.

Here is a round-up of the coolest March and April shows and movies that the youngsters will love, while keeping the older members of the family in touch with their inner child, too.

Problem Child 2

First released in 1991, Problem Child 2 is a timeless classic. The late John Ritter stars as a man desperate for a son to call his own. Unfortunately, he and his wife battle fertility problems. They eventually make the decision to adopt a young redhead who goes by the name of Junior and who, to put it mildly, happens to be a bit of a ‘problem child’

Wednesday, 25 March at 14:50 CAT on TNT Africa, DStv Channel 137| GOtv Channel 116.

Barbie of Swan Lake

Based on the original Tchaikovsky ballet, ‘Swan Lake’, Barbie takes centre stage as Odette, the beautiful young lady who is transformed into a swan by an evil wizard called Rothbart. Will she manage to escape the curse?

Thursday, 26 March at 18:05 CAT on M-Net Movies All Stars, DStv Channel 111.

The Casagrandes S1

This animated comedy series features tween, Ronnie Anne, who lives with her extended multigenerational Mexican American family in Great Lakes City.

From Monday, 30 March at 14:30 CAT on Nickelodeon, DStv Channel 305| GOtv Channel 153.

Just Roll with It

Two polar-opposite tweens now live under the same roof and must learn to be ‘harmonious’ siblings in their newly blended family. The show also boasts a fresh interactive element and lots of hilarious improv.

From Monday, 6 April at 17:23 CAT on Disney Channel, DStv Channel 303.

Incredibles 2

The beloved superhero family is back for round two in this, well, The Incredible sequel. Prepare for action as Mr Incredible heads to an island to battle a robot and quickly finds himself in trouble. It’s up to the rest of the family to save the day!

Saturday, 11 April at 19:00 CAT on M-Net Movies Smile, DStv Channel 105

Watch these fun shows and movies with the whole family anytime, and anywhere you choose to curl up at home by downloading the DStv Now App. You can also manage your account easily with the self-service My DStv App and MyGOtv App.
