The organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) scheme, Charterhouse, have introduced a 7days window to give Ghanaians the opportunity to challenge the information submitted to them about nominees.

In an interview with the ever-bubbly Sika Osei during the VGMAs Nominees’ party which took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on March 18, Robert Klah, the Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse, revealed that the one-week provisional window has been introduced to ensure that the information about nominees are accurate.

As explained by Robert, “One of the first things we’re immediately introducing is the one-week provisional period. After this announcement goes out, we have one week window where we’re opening up for the public. So, what this means is, if there’s anybody contesting any information, if there’s any information that has been submitted to the VGMA and inaccurate, we are open to receiving information from the public to be able to address that. This is because individuals make submissions and sometimes you get incorrect information. After this period, everything as announced stays as they are.”

However, in another interview with NYDJ on RyseNShyne on Yfm on Monday,March 20, Mr Klah further divulged that the seven 7 days provisional window will be the channel through which one could challenge a nomination or file a dispute.

“The one-week provisional window is for correction and provision. By correction, I mean the removal or inclusion or any type of information that might not be accurate as a result of the mechanisms in soliciting for information from different sources,” he emphasized.

The Head of public event made known that individuals could submit their concerns via Charterhouse’s official emails or contact available on the award scheme’s website.

Meanwhile, a total of 27 awards are anticipated to be presented at this year’s VGMA on Saturday 13th May 2023 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
