Child comedy, ‘Billy; opens at Festival of Films Africa

BILLY OUT NOW 2An exciting line-up of African films has been listed for the first edition of the Festival of Films Africa (FOFA) scheduled for Accra from March 1-4.  With titles from Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and Senegal, as well as the Diaspora, FOFA will celebrate African cinema and open up the industry to film makers and film lovers. The festival opens at Goethe Institute with a two-day workshop on March 1 and 2; with films showing daily at the Silverbird Cinema throughout March 1-4.  Films would also be exhibited for sale at discounted rates, at the Accra Mall during the period.  There will be top feature films, short films and documentary short showing. Ghanaian child-comedy, ‘Billy’ starring Kojo Dadson, Nadia Buari, Fred Johnson, Timothy Bentum, Paulina Oduro, 2 Tuff and Devonte Ferguson will premiere at the festival on March 3.  Touted as the most stubborn pupil in school, as well as the greatest enemy of neighbor Mr. Amponsah, Six years old Billy becomes the talk of the neighborhood in which he resides with his family. His quest to please his young parents and best friend next door only pushes him into more trouble.  What happens when Billy falls into the hands of criminals who invade the estate? Will Billy become the unlikely hero of the community? Other titles showing at the Festival of Films Africa are:
