Over the last 4 weeks, Accra’s talented and budding young folks have been scrambling for registration forms at the various points across the city in anticipation of the maiden audition for the show.

This show is opened for all who possess a passion and talent for scriptwriting, editing, photography, and all types of audio/visual production; and as Awusi Michell, Business Development manager of Phamous People Philms, puts it, “the Cinekrom Philm Academy Reality Show is open for all living in the country between the ages of 18 and 25 years who are talented and have the desire to enter into all spheres of filmmaking.”

Therefore, one could be a talented script writer, creative person, or interested in photography, directing and many more and will be eligible to participate in the show. The competition also does not require that entrants have any form of prior training or education in the field; anyone who feels like they have the skill, passion, desire and what it takes to enter in the multifaceted film making world is welcome to apply. It does not matter whether you have been to film school or not you are welcome into the Cinekrom Philm Academy.

The main aim of the show is to teach the new generation of GH filmmakers how to do it the right way, so as to be able to compete internationally. This, she stated, is the reason behind, her outfit’s decision to invite three of the biggest filmmakers in the world to come and bring their impeccable experience and expertise to bear on the housemates.

The show is set to roll out on television at the beginning of February 2011 and the second phase of auditions will take place in Kumasi on the 15th of January 2011.

The 12 lucky housemates will be put through a gruelling series that will involve a sequence of tasks such as shooting music videos for selected artistes, television commercials as well as short films and documentaries on pertinent topics and issues affecting society.

Meanwhile according to reports, there seems to be a major rush for the forms as most young folks seem eager to try out for the opportunity to live their film making dreams and to work with the most prestigious name in the area of multimedia productions in the country, PHAMOUS PEOPLE PHILMS as well as to win the other mouth-watering prizes at stake which include an opportunity to shoot a music video with Marco Liberling, a 1 week training trip to the Brooklyn School of Arts in the United States, an attractive cash prize and many other delectable  prizes.
