Sunday night’s Big Brother Amplified, live eviction show was full of suspense but when the dire was cast, Namibia’s Jossy become the first casualty in the exciting sixth season of the TV reality series. The surprises on the night started with Zeus breaking it to other housemates that as Head of House, he saved himself from eviction and replaced himself with Vimbai.
A shocked Vimbai smiled when she realized that Zeus had saved himself and put her in danger of being the first Big Brother Amplified Housemate to be evicted. Zeus said that was a tough decision that had left him with a lot of guilt especially since the two of them had gotten a lot closer after he made the decision earlier in the week. He said that he felt that Vimbai was better equipped to make it in the outside world, if she was voted out, but hoped that the viewers voted to keep her in the House.
The two hugged after Zeus announced Vimbai would be the sixth Housemate to face possible Eviction, instead of the Head of House. Zeus accompanied her to the bedroom, together with a few girls, to pack her bags within ten minutes. Vimbai was evidently teary as she packed up for possible eviction.
Big Brother host, IK later called all six nominated housemates onto the stage and did a quick interview with them before breaking the results of the voting to the housemates. Danny said he missed Luclay the most during the week and when IK asked if he didn’t miss Lotus as well, he laughed and said he missed her a lot as well. Jossy recounted the oil wrestling task as his most memorable moment in the house; while Confidence explained that she was sure she was nominated for eviction because the other housemates know she is competition.
Vimbai also explained that she understood that Zeus had to make a tough and strategic decision and so wouldn’t bear any grudges with him if she went back into the house. Weza said her biggest challenge was getting to know the different people from different cultures and admitted to having to deal with some egos as well. She explained that she was down after the calendar shoot task earlier in the week because she wasn’t sure of how Africa would react to the nudity they portrayed. Finally Vina said she also knew she was nominated because the others saw her as a threat. She said she had learnt to trust some people and not to trust others.
IK then asked Weza, Vina, Confidence and Vimbai to stand up and later asked them to go back to the house. Two Housemates that remained on stage, Jossy and Danny, did not know what Big Brother had in store for them. They sat there with suspense and confusion painted on their faces. Before he announced who will be going home and who to the Tails House, IK asked Danny to leave the stage and announced that “The first Housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Amplified House is Jossy”. He was the Housemates that received the least number of country votes and was evicted from the show to go home. Danny received the second least number of votes and was sent to the Tails House.
Lotus ran and jumped at Danny with her legs around him, as he walked into the Tails House after his Heads Eviction. The Tails Housemates asked him how he got there and he told them he was nominated and faced Eviction, but wasn’t sure if Josy had been sent home or not. Danny asked the Tails Housemates what they had been doing the whole week, if they did not nominate one another. The Tails Housemates gathered around him and each was eager to ask him a question about the happenings in the Heads House.
Meanwhile the four girls returned to the Heads house excited. As they entered the house, Confidence kept screaming ‘We’re back!’ while Weza broke down in tears. Confidence continued the jubilations by screaming ‘thanks Africa!’ and started to tear up as well. They received hugs from the other housemates who seemed happy to have them back but unsure of the fate of Danny and Jossy.
Confidence and Wendall later on discussed strategies after the Eviction Show. She kept saying she was grateful to Africa for standing behind her and keeping her in the House. She elaborated on how she will live by her name and have confidence in her abilities to stay in the House. While puffing away on a cigarette, she said she planned to enjoy her Sunday knowing that Africa wanted her to stay in the House, even though some in the House wanted her out.
Here is how Africa voted last week:
Weza: 6 country votes, Angola, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi, Botswana (24%)
Vina: 3 country votes, Nigeria, Rest of Africa, Uganda (20%)
Vimbai: 3 country votes, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Kenya (17%)
Confidence: 1 country vote, Ghana (18%)
Danny: 1 country vote, Ethiopia (11%)
Jossy: 1 country vote, Namibia (9%)
