Did Tekno ‘steal’ Akwaboah’s song?

Has Nigerian Afrobeats star Tekno stolen a hook from Ghanaian singer – songwriter Akwaboah?

This is the question many are asking on social media as they compare the clear similarities between Tekno’s just released song ‘Enjoy’ which shares the same title as Akwaboah’s song ‘Enjoy’ featuring Kelvyn Boy.

What is clear is that Akwaboah’s ‘Enjoy’ was released on 15th November whereas Tekno’s ‘Enjoy’ hit the internet from the 20thof November.

Apart from the fact that both songs have the same title and begin with a highlife flavour, the chorus has the same lines. For instance Akwaboah’s ‘Enjoy’ has the line ‘Allow me make I enjoy’, whereas Tekno’s version has ‘Allow me to enjoy myself’.

While the debate rages on, you can listen in and be the judge as to whether any ‘stealing’ has taken place or whether it is a case of two geniuses thinking along the same wave length.
