DJ Abrantee and Omotola honoured by BEFFTA

dj abranteeGhanaian DJ, DJ Abrantee and Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde are among some personalities given special awards ahead of this year’s BEFFTA Awards scheduled to come off at the Hippodrome, Golders Green in London Saturday. The BEFFTA Awards (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) ceremony annually honours the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and other ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Africa, Caribbean, Canada and globally. DJ Abrantee, born Abrantee Boateng, and Omotola are among five personalities organisers of the awards announced as recipients of special honour at the event. The three other recipients includes, Nigerian-born multi-award winning author, motivational speaker and mentor, Dayo Olomu; Nigerian-born multi-award winning veteran broadcaster and media consultant, Princess ‘Deun Adedoyin-Solarin; and veteran journalist, presenter and newsreader, Sir Trevor McDonald. DJ Abrantee Dj, popularly known for his drive time radio show on Choice FM in London will receive the BEFFTA Excellence Award for his wonderful and endless contribution to urban and Afrobeats music both in UK and internationally at Saturday’s event while multiple award-winning actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde will be presented with a special honorary award, BEFFTA Film Icon for her contribution to film industry in Africa, Europe and globally. Dayo Olomu will receive the BEFFTA Leadership Award for his outstanding contribution to entertainment and arts while Princess ‘Deun Adedoyin-Solarin will be awarded the special honorary award BEFFTA Entertainment Icon for a successful career in media and broadcasting which spans over 35 years. Sir Trevor McDonald will be presented with the BEFFTA Male Lifetime Achievement award. Several personalities from music, dance, comedy, radio, television, film, modelling, event promotion, fashion, photography will be awarded at the October 26 star-studded awards night.
