DJ Toyor is doing everything possible to win the Best Mobile Dj of the year in the 2018 Ghana Dj awards. “The second edition of the Ghana Dj awards I was nominated as an Artist Dj of the year for the official Dj of TicTac. I battled with Dj Mensah – Sarkodie, Dj Mynor – R2bees, Dj Carlos – VIP & Dj Godday for Edem. Dj Mensah won that category. De next year till now I’ve always had de Mobile Dj nomination but never won but for this year with de events I’ve played from one place to the other, I know I deserve to be given the award.” “Also I celebrated my 10th anniversary in Djing and 30th birthday recently so I know those numbers are lucky numbers and also fifth time getting nomination I know I’m going to win. The Ghana Police Service arrested 29 people on Tuesday after dispersing a violent anti-cost protest in Accra with tear gas. The protest took a turn for the worse when protesters engaged in a violent exchange with police, injuring 12 officers and leading to the arrest of some of the protesters.

Following the incident, many Ghanaians, both inside and outside the country, have come out to condemn the police and protesters’ violent actions.

One video that went viral from the incident showed a police officer beating a handcuffed protester who was clearly not resisting arrest. The video sparked an online outrage, with “Be My Love” singer NY Melody among those quick to condemn the officer’s actions.

The musician later posted a video in which he expressed his disappointment at seeing the video. For him, the police officer was abusing his authority, and slapping someone who was already handcuffed was completely unnecessary.

“We live in a democracy, and in a democracy, we have the right to demonstrate when something bothers us.” The police, also known as “Peace Officers,” are supposed to keep the peace and order no matter what environment they are in.”

Imagine what would have happened if the protesters had retaliated in response to the slap. The cops should have known better; they should have some emotional intelligence. “Police brutality is slapping someone already in cuffs who isn’t resisting arrest.” he said.
