Download: Epixode's ' 3nity' album out now!
If there’s one thing Epixode is best known for, it’s his energy on stage and versatility: his ability jump on any genre of music and own it. That’s two separate things, but proof of how the young crooner, gifts the world with double his muse. This has made a lot of industry heads consider him as one of the few acts to take Ghanaian music to another level.
The Avatar hit maker is set to release his sophomore album titled 3nity on the 21st of April 2018 following the release of his debut album to critical acclaim. 3nity is another chapter in the dancehall/reggae artiste`s journey to self-discovery and exploration. The album is a fusion of three separate genres that is Dancehall, Reggae and Afrobeats hence the title 3nity. “This year I will be exploring other genres more while defending the Reggae and Dancehall genre which is my strength” as said by Epixode which is evident in this album.
Epixode challenges himself even more on this album by stepping out of his comfort zone to experiment with different music forms by collaborating with multiple producers with Dat Beats God producing most of the songs on the album. The album also features some of the heavy weight names in African music scene such as Ghana`s own Stoenbwoy and Zimbabwe`s (the girl) and some of the young budding artiste such as Kurl Songs (list some of the ft acts) with a special appearance by Epixode`s Mum who was a member of the Wolumei music group.
2017, was a great year for Epixode from performing at the Harare Carnival alongside some Reggae and Dancehall heavyweights to touring the south and eastern part of Africa without any major release in the year of review. 3nity is to say thank you to all the supportive fans who`ve been with him from jump and promises to be a collection of songs to get you through the year and any mood with a dose of banging dance songs you can turn up to.
The album is available for purchase via Onbarz: http://www.onbarz.com/#!album_ detail/17]]>

Lisa Yaro shares amapiano summer anthem “Savage”

Nigerian-American multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress and producer Lisa Yaro shares her amapiano-influenced club anthem “Savage” – listen here. The song, produced by RexMADEIT, is an energetic party-starter that serves as the lead single from her upcoming EP, My Way, set to be released on June 16th. Along with the EP, a colorful music video directed by LENSGOD will debut showcasing people dancing and partying in the streets of Lagos, Nigeria.
Yaro describes, “‘Savage’ is an energetic club record that gets you hyped and gives you the freedom to let loose and just have a good time! I really wanted to make a summer record that embodied FUN. So many times we get wrapped up in the day to day grind that we forget to simply dance. I hope my record can be that escape for anyone looking to blow off some steam through dancing. Good music and good vibrations are what I want to add to the world and I believe that my EP is a reflection of that.”
My Way will be Yaro’s first project, following her success as a songwriter with will.i.am, LeToya Luckett and Mya with whom she contributed to the Grammy-nominated project “Smoove Jones” in the Best R&B Album category. The EP will follow a series of successful single releases that include “Biko,” “Domitilla,” featuring Mayorkun, and “Yaro,” featuring Afrobeats superstar Zlatan. Her music video for “Yaro” gained rotation on BET Jams, Revolt TV and BET Soul. The song’s combination of Afrobeats and R&B led music blog The Knockturnal to say that “Lisa has created a sound for herself within the Afrobeats genre that incorporates both sides of her culture.”
Lisa is an artist, songwriter, producer and actress born and raised in Kaduna, Nigeria. Her deep appreciation for her African musical heritage landed her in Los Angeles where she began songwriting for artists such as Mya, Will.i.am and LeToya Luckett. Her hard work paid off when her songs were recognized on the Grammy-nominated project “Smoove Jones” by Mya, in the Best R&B Album category.
She has recently gained success as an independent Afrobeats artist with multiple commercial releases, such as “Biko” and “Yaro” featuring Afrobeats superstar Zlatan, which have received rotation on BET Jams, Revolt TV, BET Soul, and Apple Music. She has also performed in sold-out venues across the US with Afrobeats artists Flavour, opened up for Asake, and performed at the 2022 AFRIMMA Awards Show in Dallas, TX. Lisa’s unique sound has been featured on numerous radio shows in the US and abroad, including Hot97 in New York, SoundCity, and Cool fm in Lagos, Nigeria.
Since 2021, she has hosted on the weekly AfroFlava radio show and co-hosted the Afrobeats stage at SummerStage NYC. Alongside her musical endeavors, Lisa has executive produced for various shows and films, including “Freedoms Path,” which premiered in over 200 AMC and Regal Theaters in 2023. As an actress, she has appeared in numerous TV and film productions, including “Asking For IT,” a movie that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and is currently available on Hulu and Amazon Prime. One of Lisa’s previous singles, “Domitilla,” featuring Mayorkun, is also featured during the end credits of the film.

Mark Asari makes a majestic return with ‘Money Man’ – an interesting take on love and finances

British-Ghanaian R&B singer-songwriter and producer Mark Asari returns to the music scene with his latest offering, ‘Money Man’. The song presents a comical take on a situation involving an entitled woman who uses a guy for his finances, expecting extravagant gifts and dates at only the finest restaurants. In return, she never contributes to the bill or reciprocates the gesture.
Produced and co-written by UK-based producers MARL and Maleík Loveridge and with the assistance of UK Dancehall artist Hayzell, the song skillfully combines Dancehall influences with Pop and R&B. This fusion creates a hard-hitting, energetic, yet sultry sound that is guaranteed to set the dancefloor alight. ‘Money Man’ is taken from Mark’s new project ‘’ASARI’’ which is scheduled for release later this year.
In other news, Mark has also landed the role of Simba in Disney’s ‘’The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands’’ at Disneyland Paris. When asked about his new role, he states, ‘’I’m excited to play such an iconic character from a film I’ve loved ever since I was a kid. It’s my first-ever musical theatre experience and it has allowed me to tap into different sides of my creativity and grow as an all-round performer’’.
