Yvonne Nelson has always been vocal about issues facing the country and so it comes as no surprise that the award-winning actress has expressed interest in occupying  a political office someday.

While some believe that her decision to venture into the political arena stems from her friend, fellow actor, John Dumelo, Yvonne has stated emphatically that it has nothing to do with him.

According to her, her interest in politics peaked after her popular “Dumsor Must Stop” vigil.

“It isn’t because of John, no. I think this whole thing started right after my ‘dumsor must stop’ vigil. I started talking to people and they were like Yvonne you have a voice, why don’t you go back to school to educate yourself, you can do politics…” Yvonne told Jessica Opare Saforo in recent interview on Citi FM.

Yvonne added that after the success of the vigil, it inspired her to go back to school and educate herself more on the subject.
