In his own mind Samuel Adjei has got the freshest kicks, knows all the girls, and is a big deal in his ends. In reality, he’s a troublemaking teenager with bad grades, zero ambition, and a talent for creating nothing but headaches.

So, while flying out to visit family, Samuel’s parents come up with a solution: they decide to leave their wayward 16-year-old son stranded in Ghana with no plane ticket home, and enrol him at Onuakrom Academy, one of the most prestigious boarding schools.

Before he can return to the London life he once knew, Samuel has to achieve one singular goal: get a first-class education… and maybe cut down on the backchat a little. But when it comes to taking life seriously and reconnecting with Ghana culture, Samuel’s got a heck of a lot to learn and he’s already made an impressively bad first impression.

By the time Samuel starts unpacking his bags, he has annoyed his teachers, alienated himself from the other students, made mortal enemies with the prefects, and somehow is failing English class. All this in week one! These are Dem Times. This is the year of his return… whether Samuel likes it or not.
