Emotional moments from Atsu’s final funeral rites As He Joins His Ancestors Today

The final funeral rites for the late Ghanaian football player, Christian Atsu Tsama, who was found dead close to a fortnight after the catastrophic earthquake that struck parts of Turkey and Syria on February 6, is currently underway at the forecourt of the state house.

This follows a one-week observation which was held at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf in Accra on March 4 which attracted both former and current Black stars players amongst other celebrities.

At the moment, Thousands of loved ones including his colleague footballers, family, politicians, old school mates and fans have gathered to celebrate life of the young footballer and pay him their last respect.

A number of both past and current of Black stars players as well as family and fans were seen shedding uncontrollable tears at Atsu’s state-assisted funeral.

Also at the funeral is his wife, Marie-Claire Rupio, his mother in-law, his twin sister and his three children. Marie paid an emotional tribute to her beloved husband emphasizing that he was a very good husband and father to their children. She also described her late husband as seeming immortal and how she saw his smile and love for their kids.

Some of the politicians, celebrities and players who have been spotted at the funeral include; President Akufo Addo, Dr. Bawumia, John Mahama, Lydia Forson, Sulley Muntari, Agyeman Badu amongst a huge number of notable people from Ghana and Abroad.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the footballer will be sent to his hometown for burial.
