guba awards (28)The British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Peter Jones on Thursday evening hosted the launch  of the 2012 Ghana UK-Based Achievements (GUBA) Awards at his residence in Accra for the second year running. This comes after a remarkable launch at the British House of Commons in the UK, on 5th September. This year’s ceremony is sponsored by RLG, Armajaro, MoneyGram, Invest In Africa, Blavo and Co, Gamank Group, the British High Commission Accra, Homestrings, MYGAPPAEL and Arik air. This year’s stellar line up of the Black award recipients include Mr. Herman Chinery-Hesse, who is receiving the Exceptional Achievement Award for his pioneering role in the evolvement of software development and implementation in Ghana and England’s most capped player of all-time, footballer Rachel Yankey MBE receives the Sporting Achievement Award and finally MOBO awards founder, Kanya King also receives the Enterprise Mogul Award for her accolades and achievements in creating, developing and diversifying the esteemed MOBO brand.
