Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz Fm over the weekend, the renowned DJ opined that even though fanbases have their advantages, they cause more harm than good to Ghana’s Music fraternity.

According to him, fanbases are supposed to project their artists to the world, but here in Ghana, the rise of one artiste is the downfall of another artiste.

‘‘So, if this artist is dropping an album, we are going to use it to shade another person. That is what is happening in Ghana. Example is if Sarkodie is rising, we for shade Yaapono, if Stonebwoy dey rise, we for shade Shatta,’’ he explained.

DJ Slim further divulged it is disheartening that there cannot be a situation were all artistes will be projected to the world at the same time by their fanbase. He also asserted that some go to the extent of insulting and attacking individuals who try to address issues about their artist which he has been a victim of.

The young DJ concluded by advising fanbases to desist from actions that can lead to the end of Ghana music.
