Fans overlooked the art and focused so much on what I should be doing for him-Sarkodie on Strongman’s exit

“Artist of the Decade” winner at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Sarkodie has said that Strongman’s departure from his label, “Sarkcess Music”, should be blamed on fans for overlooking Strongman’s talent and focusing so much on what he, Sarkodie could be doing for him.

According to the “Bibiiba” rapper, Stongman’s art and successes were overlooked.

“He is having a million views on his videos but that is overlooked. They talk about the fact that Sarkodie should do more, so it takes away the art,” Sarkodie said on Showbiz A-Z, on Saturday.

After two years on the label, Strongman and SarkCess Music parted ways in April on what they called amicable terms.

According to Sarkodie, the criticisms he faced from fans took away the shine from the brand they were building for Strongman.

He therefore did not renew the contract because he wanted to give Strongman the chance to grow without facing any criticisms.

“The Strongman brand will be given the chance to grow even more and anytime he does something, it is not linked to Sarkcess Music but the focus will be on him (Strongman) and his art,” Sarkodie stated.

Sarkodie is ready to release a 5 track mixtape which he calls “Alpha” on June 7th. According to him, “Alpha” is just a teaser to a much more bigger project for the year 2019.
