First Nollywood Movies Awards set for June 2

Nollywood Movies Awards logoFINALAs part of its social responsibility initiatives, Nollywood Movies, a 24 hour movie channel on the SKY Platform is delighted to announce the inaugural Nollywood Movies Awards which will be celebrating excellence, outstanding achievements and diversity in the industry. The awards will celebrate both English speaking and indigenous talents with a nominees’ party set to take place on May 5 at the Oriental hotel in Lagos, Nigeria with the main awards ceremony on Saturday, June 2 at the Civic Centre also in Lagos, Nigeria. The primary aim of the Nollywood Movies Awards (NMAs) is to honor and recognize excellence in the industry. Furthermore, 22 categories have been created which include acting, pre and post production, which will help develop the industry. The awards will also focus on the highest achievements of films produced for the industry each year in order to motivate and encourage those who make them and inspire new entrants into the industry. The full list of categories and nominees will be revealed at a press conference slated for Friday 27th April 2012 at the Lagos Ikeja Hotel (Best Western). The highlights of the ceremony will be screened later on Nollywood Movies (SKY Channel 329) and on other notable platforms. Nollywood Movies is a 24 Hour Movie channel on the SKY Platform Channel 329 based in the United Kingdom that specializes in broadcasting movies from the Nigerian Movie industry known as “Nollywood”. The Channel was launched in January 2008 and has also been involved in promoting Nigerian Movies through Premieres in the United Kingdom.]]>
