Nigerian actress and producer, Funke Akindele has lost her father.

The award-winning Nollywood star took to her social media page to announce the death of her father who was a retired school principal.

“Dad!!! May your soul Rest In Peace!! I tried Dad! I did!! We love you but God knows best!!! #iwish i can turn back the hands of time”, she wrote.

Funke, however, did not indicate the cause of the old man’s death.

Messages of condolence are already pouring for the ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ actress.

Funke is the second of her late dad’s three children, two girls and one boy.
