Gena West returns as Vodafone Icons Judge with a baby bump!

Published

on

gena westSinger, Gena West returned as the only surviving judge on the second season of the Vodafone Icons reality TV show when the series premiered on Sunday evening. However, she really didn’t come alone; she returns with a heavy baby bump.  Will the pregnancy cool off the outspoken judge from season one, or would she still hold a sharp tongue and tell it like? Viewers will surely miss the clashes between Gena and fellow season-one judge, Stephanie Benson. Stephanie and Quantos from the ‘Divas Edition’ have been replaced by the outspoken and funny Miss Naa of Ryse and Shyne fame on Y FM, and popular producer and sound engineer Apietus. From Sunday’s show it appears that the new judges will take no prisoners in their quest to find the next Ghanaian ‘pop group’. Also returning from season 1, is Benny Blanco the host. This year’s show,  ‘Vodafone Icons: Mixed Edition’ seeks to discover a mixed group of both males and females unlike the previous ‘Divas Edition’ that was solely for the ‘girls’. It promises to deliver even greater excitement, as both males and females search for stardom. Who will make it past the audition stages, who will get into the top 24 and who will form the 8 groups of 3 to compete for the amazing prize packages and opportunities ahead? Sunday’s show started the journey with lots of heartbreaks for many aspiring musicians who couldn’t make the judges’ cut at the Tamale and Takoradi auditions. There were however some successful auditions in Tamale and Takoradi, and surely the drama will continue as the show moves to Kumasi and Accra. Vodafone Icons: Mixed Edition’ airs on Sunday on Metro TV (7:30pm), TV3 (10:00pm), eTV Ghana, Skyy TV and GH One (8:00pm)]]>
