‘Ghana Cultural Fest – Belgium’ Launched in Accra

The maiden edition of the Ghana CultureFest Belgium has officially been launched in Accra.

The event organized by WUKU in collaboration with Ghana Council, Belgium seeks to promote Ghanaian culture not only in Belgium but throughout Europe, as well as to promote Ghanaian music.

During the festival, Ghana’s rich culture food, music, and accessories among others will be shown to an international audience in Europe. Most importantly, it seeks to bring together Ghanaians in Belgium and Europeans who are interested in the Ghanaian culture to have a first-hand experience.

According to organizers of the event, special workshops where children will have the opportunity to learn about Ghanaian cultures such as Chieftancy affairs, the various naming ceremonies, marriage ceremonies, puberty rites, and food of different regions and tribes will take place during the festival.

Present at the launch were dignitaries such as Mr. Kwaku Boamah Acheampong – President Of Ghana Council, Belgium, Bessa Simons – Acting President Of MUSIGA, Madam Janet Nyame Edna – Executive Director of National Commission on Culture, and Akpinifia Okpekpewuokpe Dagadu IX, Paramount Chief of the Akpini Traditional Area.

Speaking at the launch event, founders Kwaku Agyekum Sikahene and Ama Wusuwaah expressed gratitude to all present dignitaries and media while also revealing that they are looking forward to meeting everyone at the main event of the Ghana Culture Fest in Belgium.

Mr. Kwaku Boamah Acheampong stated that the event is primarily intended to promote Ghanaian culture not only in Belgium but throughout Europe, as well as to promote Ghanaian music.

The Ghana CultureFest Belgium press launch happened at The Gold Coast Restaurant & Cocktail Bar on 25th July 2022.

Ghana Embassy, Brussels, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, National Commission on Culture, Ghana Council, Belgium, Musiga, Ancestral Foundation, and Xperience Africa are strategic partners for the Ghana CultureFest Belgium which date is yet to be announced.
