Ghana-France Higher Education and Research Conference 2024 kicks off in Accra
The 6th Ghana-France Higher Education and Research Conference 2024 kicked off in Accra on Monday, February 5. It will run till Wednesday February 7 and then move to Kumasi on Thursday February 8.
On Monday things kicked off in GIMPA, Accra, with a day of institutional meetings. The aim is to promote mutual understanding between French and Ghanaian higher education establishments, and create exchanges between them to discuss cooperation opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs, as well as the development of joint research projects.

During the morning, the French and Ghanaian delegations were be welcomed at GIMPA, with speeches. GIMPA representatives explain the Ghanaian higher education system to French schools, and a Campus France representatives also explained the French higher education system to Ghanaian schools. This was followed by a round-table discussion on “Partnerships in higher education: tools and resources”.
The French and Ghanaian schools also took part in speed meetings to talk about their programs and how they can work together.
The day then concluded with a cocktail reception at the Residence of France, attended by the delegation, student associations, alumni, French students and representatives of diplomatic organisations.
This major event is organized by Campus France, the French higher education institution which helps and assists students or people wishing to study in France, and by the French Embassy in Ghana. To this end, a French delegation of 12 higher education establishments, including business schools, engineering schools and public universities, are in Ghana accompanied by Her Excellency Madame Béatrice KHAIAT, Deputy Director of Campus France. The French Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Jules-Armand ANIAMBOSSOU, will also be present throughout the event.
