Ghana to host African Music Conference (AfroMusicon), focusing on ‘The Business of Music’

Published

AfroMusiConLogo6 08Ghana will host a first of a kind music conference, which will center African music and stakeholders. The conference seeks to combine the power of music with the solid teachable moments from moguls, pioneers and industry leaders from across the world, build capacity and put in place structures that can support the creative arts industry. For its maiden edition, the African Music Conference (AfroMusicon) will focus on ‘The Business of Music’. AfroMusicon will be a three-day event, and will breakdown operations of the music industry and tackle different aspects of what the meaning of ‘Showbiz’ truly is. It will also include a number of unplugged sessions at different venues simultaneously. Bringing together established and up and coming artistes, the conference will create an avenue for them to form partnerships for growth. Being put together by EchoHouse, a 360-creative youth marketing agency in Ghana, the CEO, Beryl Agyekum stated “The business of music is an income generating one that should transcend geographical and cultural barriers, unfortunately in Ghana, we don’t see it happen often. In today’s world, some of the richest people are in the music business and with this conference, we hope to delve into how Ghanaians in the industry can enter and own this space and effectively grow the industry.” For all those in the creative arts industry, this will offer them the platform to learn and form partnerships for growth. AfroMusicon will therefore help establish a system that can help build structures The event is scheduled to happen in May 2018 in Accra, and is supported by Innova DDB and Pulse Creatives with media partners; Kuulpeeps, BBnZ and DGN, Ameyaw Debrah Media, NY Live, George Britton Media and Enews Ghana. Follow the conversation on www.afromusicon.com and on @AfroMusicon on all social media platforms.    ]]>
