Former British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin has with authority, declared the Ghanaian “Jollof” as the only worthy kind.

Over the past few years Nigerians and Ghanaians have had several social media banters on  on which country makes the best “Jollof” in the world. Sengalese have also waded into the war from time to time even though they are always kicked out of the conversation.

In a recent post made on Twitter by the Ghanaians in the United Kingdom page, they encouraged Ghanaians to make their “Jollof” at home and not buy from Nigerian restaurants.

“Authentic Ghanaian #Jollof can only be made at home in the UK ooo! Don’t let #Nigerian restaurants disturb your palate with the sub par one!” the GH in UK page tweeted.

Mr Benjamin, who was mentioned in the tweet responded and clarified that Ghanaian “jollof” is the only kind in the world.

“I’m not sure you need to write *Ghanaian* Jollof, since that’s the only authentic kind, or at least the only kind worth mentioning. Otherwise, you’re inadvertently comparing Premier League jollof with League Two Jollof,” he wrote.
