Ghana Ladies in Tech Summit & Awards announces winners

The maiden edition of the Ghana Ladies in Tech Summit & Awards has been held in Accra to great reviews.

 

The event brought together some of Ghana’s leading names in the tech ecosystem to deliberate on changing trends and also take stock of the gains made so far.

The Ghana Ladies in Tech is a community of female entrepreneurs. The group seeks to aid them in their entrepreneurial journeys so that they can empower other ladies, especially in the tech ecosystem while celebrating female innovators across the country.

 

The group has support from organization such as the Communication Ministry and the MasterCard Foundation among others.

The well-patronized event saw 36-year-old Mariam Kaleem Agyeman-Buahin win the highest award for Femtech Personality of the Year, adding to her growing number of recognitions as she continues to contribute to the Marketing and Digital Banking Transformation inAfrica.

 

Currently Group Head, Digital Marketing at Letshego Holdings Limited, she translates Group Marketing brand into an engaging customer centric digital experience that drives acquisition, engagement, conversion and grow customer loyalty across the 11 footprints namely; Botswana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Tanzania, Eswatini, Namibia.

Most Skillful Shepreneur of the Year – Paulette Watson of STEM Academy Achievers. Her #BeMe Project aims to raise 1 million black girls’ aspirations in Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) careers.

 

Hardware Engineer of the Year – Belinda Akaba of Solar Taxi. She is a female engineer with blazing expertise in the hardware engineering field effectively over the past two years.
