Ghanaian actors pay tribute to Ekow Blankson during his one-week memorial ceremony

Over the weekend, members of the Actors Guild, led by President Bill Asamoah, and colleagues from the Creative Arts Industry paid their respects to the late Ekow Blankson.

The Community II Presec School Park was packed with mourners from far and wide as the one-week observance of veteran actor Ekow Blankson was held.

Among those in attendance were Kalybos, Fiifi Coleman, Fred Amugi, Michael Afranie, Prince David Osei, Anthony Wood, and Beverly Afaglo.

The actor, the Commercial Manager at Ghanaweb, died on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Though the cause of his death is unknown, a final video taken before his death shows him in the hospital interacting with some nurses.

According to his family, the late actor Ekow Blankson’s final funeral rites and burial will take place on December 16 and 17.

The decision was announced at the one-week observation ceremony held on Saturday at Tema Community 11 Presec School.

“The family has decided that the final funeral rites for our beloved Ekow Blankson will take place here in Tema on December 16 and 17,” the MC said.

According to a family member of the actor, the funeral will begin at the Tema Community 11 Presec school park and will be followed by interment at the Tema Community 9 cemetery.

“Ekow requested that no one wear black when he died, so there will be a special cloth for the funeral and all white for the Sunday service,” he added.
