Award-winning Television and radio broadcaster, Fiifi Folson has stated that gospel music is not a music genre, despite the popular notion that it is.

In an interview on Rainbow Radio Entertainment, Fiifi explained that gospel is not a genre, rather a rhythm that signifies Christ’s death for mankind.

“One thing I had to explain to people all the time is that gospel is not a genre. The good news is that Christ died for us, was resurrected and is now who he is to us as rhythm. It might be reggae, a ballad, or something completely different.

He added; “Previously, it was the mainstream gospel, which also had reggae as a rhythm and others did the cool ones called string music,” he said.
