Today, GRAMMY-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Leon Thomas releases the official music video to his buzzing second single, “Love Jones,” featuring multi-platinum artist Ty Dolla $ign.

After moving from his hometown of Brooklyn to sunny Los Angeles, Leon fell in love with different aspects of LA’s culture, its women, and the weather. The intimate visual, co-directed by Cameron Dean and Leon, portrays a perfect day in LA with all the things that make it unique. As an ode to LA, Leon had this to say about his inspiration for the video, “The “Love Jones” music video is a collection of all the things I love about living in California. Having an LA legend like Ty Dolla $ign made the entire concept much more authentic and real.”

“Love Jones” is Leon’s official second single from his highly anticipated debut album Electric Dusk, set to release later this year. Between Leon’s brilliantly distorted vocals, the lush production, and Ty’ssignature sound, the track formulates the perfect slow jam to wind down the summer. The single was co-written by Leon, and he also co-produced the track with Axl Folie (Drake, Kendrick Lamar) and Ali Prawl (Mary J. Blige, Cordae). Since its release, “Love Jones” has already received acclaim from the likes of Teen Vogue, RatedR&B, REVOLT, and more. Earlier this year, Leon released his first single since his 2018 hiatus entitled “X-Rated” [feat. Benny The Butcher], which will also be on the upcoming album.

Leon Thomas has quickly become one of the most sought-after songwriters and producers in the music industry over the years, writing and producing on #1 and GRAMMY-nominated albums with a plethora of chart-breaking artists, including Post Malone, Ariana Grande, J. Cole, Giveon, Kehlani, Rick Ross, Ella Mai, Snoh Aalegra, and more! Most recently, in 2021, Leon found himself contributing his writing and production skills to Drake’s global chart-topping album Certified Lover Boyon “Pipe Down,” “Love All” [feat. JAY-Z], and “In the Bible” [feat. Lil Durk and Giveon].

Not to mention, Leon has also been acting since the age of 10. He is most notably known for his appearances in Nickelodeon’s Victorious and HBO’s Insecure. In 2018, Leon released his debut EP Genesis, whichcaught the attention of outlets like Rolling Stone, Essence, Pigeons & Planes, VIBE, RatedR&B and NYLON, and earned him a nomination for ‘Best New Artist’ at the 2018 Soul Train Awards. Leon is now the first signee to Ty Dolla $ign’s new label EZMNY Records, a joint label venture with Motown Records.

After a four-year hiatus from his solo works to focus on songwriting, producing and acting, Leon is back like he never left with music so undeniable that you’ll be adding him to your list of favorite R&B singers.

2022 Global Citizen Festival Campaign Culminates In $2.4 Billion To End Extreme Poverty

Global Citizen is proud to announce the 2022 Global Citizen Festival campaign has culminated in over $2.4 billion in commitments to end extreme poverty NOW.

The six-week campaign concluded with a nine-hour festival across two stages, beginning in Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana, presented by Harith General Partners, and ending in New York City’s Central Park, presented by Citi and Cisco.

The 2022 campaign saw 2 million actions taken by global citizens as part of Global Citizen’s mission to End Extreme Poverty NOW, more than doubling the record previously set by the international advocacy organization.

On the Global Citizen Festival: Accra stage, the governments of Ghana and South Africa announced the African Prosperity Fund, a joint initiative by the governments of Ghana and South Africa, which aims to deploy $1 billion to fund projects for economic inclusion and financial participation across the continent. The fund will focus on projects in the African Continental Free Trade Area, including infrastructure development, financial access for the participation of women and youth, education, healthcare, technology, and sustainability, all for the benefit of Africa’s 1.3 billion people.

Meanwhile, at Global Citizen Festival: NYC, U.S. members of Congress from both sides of the political aisle stood alongside world leaders, philanthropists, and trailblazers from the private sector to make announcements worthy of the 10-year history of the Global Citizen Festival. Over a video message, President Macron announced France will reallocate 30 percent of its Special Drawing Rights to the world’s poorest countries, specifically in Africa, to fight extreme poverty, pandemics, inequalities, and climate change.

The days leading into the 10th anniversary Global Citizen Festival saw major commitments from world leaders, including Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada and President von der Leyen of the European Commission, who respectively committed CAD $1.209 billion and €715 million at the seventh replenishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
