GTCO Music Concert: Organizers promise safety of stadium facilities and property

Organizers of the upcoming GTCO Music Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium have assured the Ghana public that utmost care and protection will be taken of the facility. They say that measures have been put in place to ensure that the soccer pitch is revived and made ready for football activities immediately after the concert.
A statement from the organizers reads; “We acknowledge the concerns surrounding the use of the stadium for such a huge concert during this period. We wish to assure you that all concerns have been carefully considered and the Accra Sports Stadium will be left in a good shape after the concert.”
The statement noted that given the realities around the observance of all Covid-19 safety protocols, e.g. social distancing; a free entrance event of this magnitude could best be held at the Accra Sports Stadium due to its capacity to hold the expected audience.
The music concert which will feature some of the biggest music stars from Nigeria and Ghana is being put together by Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), the parent company of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana), in partnership with the Ghana National Sports Authority.
Bearing in mind the strong passion the nation has for football, the Bank in conjunction with the National Sports Authority is assuring the general public that there will be no damage to the pitch nor to other properties of the stadium which is set to hold what is touted to be the biggest concert in Ghana.
The concert, which is the first of its kind to be organized by the Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana, is designed “to spotlight the best of African entertainment to a global audience whilst promoting wider acceptance of our character as a vibrant and energetic people.” The event has been recognized by the Ghana Tourism Authority as one of its Beyond the Return initiatives and is expected to attract tourism into Ghana around the Christmas festivities.
According to the organizers, The GTCO Music Concert is in response to calls to support the tourism and creative arts industry in Ghana while offering customers and the general public a chance to experience exciting performances from well-known artistes in Ghana and Nigeria as an end of year appreciation and social responsibility initiative.
