Keep that itch at bay by subscribing to Showmax Premier League. Here are five reasons to stream the Premier League action on Showmax this weekend!
- Back from the break… who needs international football anyway?
We get three matchdays into a new season, the momentum is just beginning to really build, and… take a break boy, get in the jets, fly to different time zones to represent your countries in an international break. Boo! But don’t stress, the Premier League returns this weekend!
- Squads are finalised, let’s check out those late signings.
There were several major moves made on deadline day just before the previous matchday played out, and we can’t wait to see Raheem Sterling pull on an Arsenal shirt; Manuel Ugarte attempts to fill the seemingly endless void that is Manchester United’s midfield; and Jadon Sancho will look to resurrect his career in the blue of Chelsea.
- North London pride on the line
The North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal is reliably one of the best fixtures on the Premier League calendar, with these two arch-rivals never afraid to take the game to each other in balls-to-the-wall style. Expect a thriller at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon!
- Everton’s calamities show heads to Birmingham…
Everton somehow contrived to lose 3-2 at home to Bournemouth in the last round… having been 2-0 up and cruising to what should have been a first win of the season. The Toffees are rock bottom of the log with zero points and head to a class Aston Villa side determined to record a first home win of the season. It could get a whole lot stickier for the Toffees.
- . …and Man United’s circus act goes to the South Coast!
A fresh start, new hope, signs of optimism – these were the things sold to Manchester United fans as they entered a first-full season under the guidance of Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS group. However, a 0-3 humbling at home to Liverpool last time out showed that the Red Devils remain basically incompetent… which should make for an evenly matched game against a Southampton team which has yet to record a point this season.
